Therefore, in early spring, the beekeeper’s tasks include not only the exhibition of omshan beehives, so that the bees can perform a cleansing fly-through, but also the organization of comfortable conditions for increasing the strength of the bee-family. At this time, preventive measures are also needed to help prevent the development of diseases.
An important part of prophylaxis in the apiary economy is to conduct early spring feeding with sweet mixtures, to which various medicinal additives are added. One of these is the drug ApiMax for bees. Instructions for the use of therapeutic balm, the benefits of treatment with ApiMax and options for using this compound are discussed below.
Balm ApiMax contains only natural substances of plant origin. Biologically active components are presented:
- field horsetail,
- hot pepper,
- Echinacea purpurea,
- spherical eucalyptus.
Extracts from them are fungicides and strong herbal antibiotics. The release form of the product is a liquid concentrate of viscous consistency with a bitter taste and a pronounced coniferous smell, which has a black or rich brown tint.

Indications for use "Apimaks"
Balsam "Apimaks" is a universal medicine. Fungicides and acaricides in its composition have antimicrobial effects. These components kill the simplest organisms that cause diseases. Apply the drug for the treatment of:
- fungal diseases
- acarapidosis, varroatosis, nosema,
- infectious diseases (foulbrood, paratyphoid fever, colibacillosis, etc.).
Apimax for bees can be applied in several ways, it all depends on the goals. In order to raise the immunity, the drug is used in the fall. The period of treatment and prevention should begin no later than a month before the formation of a bee society.
For the treatment of diseases, growth and activation of bees spraying done in the spring. The faster and earlier the processing begins, the more effective the result will be.
Dosing and Administration
The drug "Apimaks" is used to treat fungal, bactericidal, infectious diseases, tick-borne invasions, as well as to support the development of the bee family. These activities are carried out in the spring. Prevention of Nosema, stimulation of the development of immunity is carried out in the autumn.
Curative balm is provided to pets thanks to pouring into honeycombs. Dosed syrup per frame 35 millimeters, while the frame is tightly covered with bees. As for prevention, one feeding is enough. To cure nomatosis, syrup is given to bees. 2 times with an interval of 3 days.

Balm can be used as a bee feeding or a therapeutic drug.
In healthy insects, it stimulates the body’s immune defenses, increasing resistance to viral and bacterial infections. The drug is able to protect the winter and significantly increase the productivity of bee colonies.
Stimulating effect is expressed by:
- in increasing the production of royal and bee milk,
- in enhancing the work of females (improved lay).
In the treatment of diseases, this medicinal composition is successfully used as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent.
Main indications for use:
- the presence of diarrhea caused by Nosema,
- tick infestation varroa,
- defeat of the tracheal apparatus with acarapidosis,
- development of fungal and bacterial infections such as ascospheresis, paragenecans, European and American foulbrood, aspergillosis, septicemia, colibacteriosis, paratyphoid fever, hafniosis.
Balsam "Apimaks" as a stimulant and a drug to combat bacteria, fungi, tick infestations is used according to the instructions immediately after the spring fly. For example, in the spring they are cured by Nosema.
In the autumn, during the period of nest enhancement, the drug is indicated as a stimulant and prophylactic agent that helps to avoid the spread of Nosema and other infectious diseases.
Treatment of infections begin immediately after the detection of the disease (its first symptoms).
And with tick infestation, it is advisable to fight before the formation of the winter club - after the completion of the honey collection (approximately one and a half to two months before the onset of wintering).
For the treatment of bees requires a fine spray. An aqueous solution cooled to room temperature is poured into it and spraying of the populated bees and the brood frameworks on both sides at the rate of 10 milliliters per frame is performed.
Work on the processing of hives is carried out at air temperatures not lower than +15 degrees Celsius.
Balm consumption: one package (vial) for a hundred frames, completely populated by insects. The consumption rate for each individual frame is strictly controlled! It should not exceed the values recommended by the manufacturer.
The solution is prepared as follows. Water is boiled, cooled to 50 degrees, the entire vial of the drug dissolves immediately in one liter and is well stirred until completely dissolved. The mixture cools to room temperature and only after that is used for its intended purpose.
Preventive treatment is carried out once!
The scheme of medical therapy depends on the type of the disease:
- infections caused by viruses and bacteria are treated until the clinical symptoms disappear completely - usually it is 3-4 sprays performed with an interval of three to four days (the last treatment is always carried out in the absence of all symptoms),
- Nozematosis requires double treatment with a break of three days,
- tick-borne invasions are treated three times with a break of three to four days (this scheme is usually used for acarapiasis and varroatosis).
According to the instructions for use, the dressing is prepared by mixing the entire bottle with 5 kilograms of candi. Everything is mixed to obtain a homogeneous mass and is given to the bees.
Norm: 50 grams per one fully populated frame.
For preventive purposes, it is enough to give out such dressing once.
And for the treatment of suitable following schemes:
- infections are treated by repeated feeding until the clinical symptoms disappear with an interval of six to seven days (the last time Candi is given out 5-6 days after the disappearance of all signs of the disease),
- to kill ticks, the medicine is given three times with a break of seven to eight days,
- Nosema is cured by issuing a single feed in the amount of up to 60 grams per frame.
A 50% syrup is prepared to dissolve the drug. At a temperature of 40-50 degrees in ten liters of this syrup dissolves the entire bottle. Then the medical mixture is well stirred and cooled to room temperature.
Syrup is given in special feeders either by pouring into empty honeycombs, which are placed closer to the brood in hives.
Rate: 30-35 milliliters per frame, completely populated by insects.
For successful prophylaxis, one-time feeding out is enough.
Treatment is performed depending on the type of the disease:
- bacterial and viral diseases are treated until the clinical symptoms disappear completely - syrup is given every three days (the last issue takes place three to four days after the disappearance of all signs of the disease),
- tick-borne invasions are eliminated by issuing a drug four times with an interval of five to six days,
- diarrhea caused by Nosema is treated twice with a three-day break.
Despite the vegetable origin, the use of this tool requires beekeepers to comply with all safety measures.
Works are performed in special clothes. Latex or rubber glasses and gloves should be used. During spraying it is forbidden to drink water, eat, smoke.
In the event of accidental contact with the mouth, eyes or skin, wash them thoroughly with running water!
Upon completion of all work, the clothes are washed, and the gloves and goggles are washed with warm water and soap. You also need to thoroughly wash your hands and wash.
