The wonderful variety of tomato - Lyana: what is its uniqueness, description, characteristics, photos

It is difficult to choose a particular sort of tomato among the many varieties and species of all kinds. Most gardeners and gardeners prefer to plant on their own sites familiar and time-tested varieties. And one of the most popular is Liana's tomato.

Features varieties Liang

It is a ripening and at the same time high-yielding variety. From the moment of the appearance of the first shoots to the immediate harvest, approximately 85-100 days pass.

The plant is short, the height of the bushes is only 40-50 cm. It has medium branching, but with abundant growth of leaves. Not applicable to standard types. By type of growth - determinant, the bush is best formed into one stem.

Lyan's tomato is a rather compact plant with small dark green slightly corrugated leaves. The first inflorescences are laid above the 5-6th leaf, and all subsequent ones - in 1-2 leaves.

These tomatoes are the best varieties of tomatoes for the east of Ukraine. The variety is perfect for growing both in open ground conditions and in the greenhouse. The plant is resistant to sudden temperature changes and is able to give a good harvest even in bad weather conditions. With proper care, a bush plant gives 2-3 kilograms of tomatoes.

The plant is completely immune to apical fruit rot and is also very resistant to dry and bacterial blotch. But at the same time, it may be infected with a tobacco mosaic virus.

Description of the fetus

Characteristic of tomato Liang:Tomatoes have a rounded shape and small size. Stand out in their bright red color. The average weight of the fruit is 50-80 g, the tomatoes are covered with a smooth, medium-hard skin. Fruits are dense and on average have 2-3 chambers, with the number of seeds about 0.30% of the total weight of the fruit. The dry matter content is not more than 6%, sugars - 4%, the acidity is quite low and ranges from 0.4 to 0.8%.

Tomatoes tolerate transportation and long-term storage. Under simple conditions (air temperature in the range of plus 8-10 degrees and a humidity level of 85%), the fruits remain fresh for 2.5-3 months.

Ways of use

Tomato Liana pink is a versatile variety of tomatoes. It should be said that these tomatoes are not a variety of Liang in its pure form, since Liang is pink - it is a hybrid. But nonetheless, These tomatoes are great for preserving, pickling or pickling. They are also used for the manufacture of various sauces, juices and purees. A large number of nutrients makes them an indispensable component of baby food. Tomatoes are very tasty fresh, their distinguishing feature is a sweet taste and a slight sourness.

Advantages and disadvantages

This type of tomato has many advantages and stands out particularly:

  • precocity
  • friendly fruiting
  • universality of use
  • resistant to most diseases
  • good transportability,
  • pleasant sweet taste
  • high nutritional value
  • yield.
Of the minuses worth talking about:

  • propensity to defeat tobacco mosaic,
  • increased risk of attack by various pests,
  • phytophthora, a disease that can appear when growing a plant in open soil.

How to independently sow tomato seeds for seedlings

For planting tomatoes at the bottom of the tank it is necessary to make a drainage layer. This is necessary in order to reduce the risk of possible damage to the seedlings of the so-called “black leg” - a rather dangerous phytophase.

A crushed shell rock is poured into disposable plastic cups with a layer of 0.5 cm, then a mixture of soil is poured onto it. All this is poured over with water at room temperature, and after the cups are covered with a film and kept like this for 5-6 hours. For such a period of time, the moisture evenly soaks the entire volume of the soil.

Then, with the help of a toothpick, small depressions are made - approximately 0.5 cm. In each of them, one seed is carefully lowered. With the same toothpick, the grooves are gently sprinkled, slightly pressing down with the primer. The landing site is moistened with a conventional sprayer, and the soil subsequently sinks. Then the cups together with the contents are covered with a film and put in a warm place, where the temperature is + 23 ° C both during the day and at night.

Planting seedlings in open ground

The most suitable season for planting tomatoes is the end of spring, which turns into early summer. At this time, the daytime temperature ranges from +22 to + 25 ° С, and at night it rarely drops below + 15 ° С. It is best to start planting seedlings in open ground in the afternoon. Water the seedlings a few hours before the seedlings. This is to ensure that the tomato sprouts are better removed from the containers in which they are located in front of the seedlings.

Also, do not get the seedlings, if you do not plan to immediately begin to plant it. In this case, the plant may begin to wilt and even noticeably slow down in growth. Before planting, dig small holes to match the size of the cups. Fill the hole with additional fertilizers: humus, wood ash and minerals. Plant the seedlings very carefully so as not to damage the fragile root system - the roots of the plant should be directed downwards. After this, pour and sprinkle the hole with a layer of dry earth.

Optimum timing and landing pattern

When determining the timing of sowing tomatoes, proceed from the fact that during the first 15-20 days after the appearance of the first shoots, tomatoes grow very slowly, because in this period there is a build-up of roots. After that, tomatoes grow noticeably more actively, and after 40 days, the growth of the vegetative mass occurs not by days, but by hours.

Regarding the planting scheme - it all depends on the variety of the seedlings. So, low-growing tomatoes It is recommended to plant at a distance of about 60 cm between the rows and 30-40 cm between plants in the same row. Tall tomatoes planted at a distance of 70 cm between the rows and 50 cm between the plants themselves. It is advisable to plant the tomatoes in a staggered manner. But if you used purchased seeds, then specify the planting scheme. You can find it on the package, which sells seeds of Liang tomatoes.

After what crops is best planted

The most preferred precursors of Len's tomato are cabbage, carrots, legumes, onions, pumpkins, cucumbers, and garlic.

But in any case, do not plant seedlings of tomatoes in areas where previously grew other solanaceous, including eggplant, pepper, potatoes. This should be avoided for one good reason - such plants suffer from the same diseases and are affected by the same pests.

Watering and feeding the soil

Tomatoes develop well and grow quickly if the soil in which they are grown is saturated with moisture by 85-90%. This can be checked using one simple method - squeeze a lump of earth dug from a depth of 10 cm from the surface. If a lump is easily formed, and when lightly pressed, it crumbles, then this indicates a sufficient soil moisture.

After planting the seedlings in open ground, water them as often as possible and more abundantly. Tomato seedlings are adversely affected by both scarce, rare watering and very frequent, abundant. In the second case, water can reduce the temperature of the soil, and this will adversely affect the ovary of the fruit in the future.

It is very useful to use ashes and fermented nettles for feeding tomatoes when grown in open ground conditions.

Weeding and loosening the soil

The soil in which tomatoes grow needs regular loosening and weeding. Loosening allows the roots to breathe, and the soil then passes moisture better. Loosening is recommended along with weed removal.

The first loosening is carried out immediately after the transplanting of tomatoes in open soil. Then the procedure is repeated every 2 weeks. To loosen the soil should be at a small depth - about 4-6 cm.

Masking and garter plants: do they need

Tomatoes grown in the greenhouse require regular pasoning. Tomatoes growing in the open field may well do without it. It is often recommended to carry out the pinching in order to get an early harvest. As a rule, 1-2 main stems are left, and the emerging stepchildren are simply removed. If you plan to get a big harvest, then leave all the stepchildren in place. Lyan's tomato is always happy with the ripening of fruits. Already in the beginning of August there will be at least 5-6 ripened brushes on each bush.

Low-growing bushes do not need a garter. If the tomatoes are large and strongly bend the plant, then it must be tied up in order to avoid rotting of the fruit.

Terms of fruit ripening

The term of ripening of tomatoes from the time of sowing the seeds to harvesting is 85-110 days. Since this is an early maturing variety, early ripening of tomatoes leads to an increased demand from buyers.

The variety Liana is truly unique and qualitatively different from other varieties of tomatoes. Most of the dacha owners and farmers, having tried to grow it once, subsequently plant it every year. Maybe you should try it too?

Tomato Liang: variety description

The breeder is the Transnistrian NIISH. This type of tomato is bred in Moldova. In the State Register of the Russian Federation officially included in the late 1990s for cultivation in the Central and East-Siberian regions. The main manufacturer: agrofirm Cedek.

This is an early ripe high-yielding variety.. From the emergence of shoots to harvest takes about 85-100 days. Based on it, ultra-early hybrid Lyana pink and Caspar F1 were obtained.

The bush is short, reaching a height of 40-50 cm, medium branching, strongly leafy. It does not apply to standard types. By type of growth - determinant. It is better to form it in one stem.

The plant is quite compact. The leaves are small, dark green, slightly corrugated. The first simple inflorescences are laid above the 5-6 leaf, and the next - after 1-2 leaves. Perfect for growing outdoors or in greenhouses.. Not afraid of sudden temperature changes, can give good yields, even in bad weather conditions.

Absolutely not susceptible to apical fruit rot, resistant to bacterial and dry spotting. The leaves can be moderately affected by septoria and late blight. A little more often exposed to tobacco mosaic virus. With proper cultivation from the bush can collect 2-3 kg of tomatoes.

Interestingly, in Eastern Siberia, the yield is 4-4.5 kg per plant. Whereas in the Central region of the Russian Federation, this figure is equal to a maximum of 3 kg. Although in Siberia, the full ripening of the fruits comes a little later, after 110-115 days after germination.

The yield of other varieties is as follows:

Tomatoes are round in shape, small in size and bright red in color. The average weight of the fruit is 50-80 gr. Tomatoes with smooth skin, medium hardness, fruits are dense, have an average of 2-3 chambers, the number of seeds is about 0.30%. The dry matter content is not more than 6%, and sugars - 4%, the acidity is rather low: from 0.4 to 0.8%.

The weight of fruits in tomatoes of other varieties, see below:

On our site you will find reliable information about such misfortunes as Alternaria, Fusarium, Verticillis, Phytophlorosis and ways to protect against Phytophthora.

Liang's tomatoes are famous not only for their excellent taste, but also for their very high content of carotene, B vitamins and organic acids. For example, the amount of ascorbic acid is 9-12 mg per 100 g of product.

Tomatoes tolerate transportation and are suitable for long-term storage. Under certain conditions (air t + 8-10С and humidity 85%), the fruit can be kept fresh up to 2.5-3 months. This is an absolutely universal variety. Tomatoes are great for canning, pickling and pickling.. They can be used to make juices, sauces and purees.

Due to the large number of nutrients they are often used in the preparation of baby food. Very tasty fresh tomatoes. They have a pleasant sweet taste with a slight sourness. Lyana is unique in that its fruits are suitable for processing at any time of maturation.

This type of tomato has many advantages. The advantages include:

  • early maturity
  • friendly fruiting,
  • universality of use
  • resistance to many diseases
  • good transportability,
  • nice sweet taste
  • high nutritional value
  • yield

Of the minuses worth noting:

  • addiction to tobacco mosaic damage,
  • can sometimes be attacked by pests
  • when grown in open ground, it often suffers from phytophtoras.

Next you will see photos of tomato variety "Ljana"

Growing up

Tomato "Liana" is considered the best variety for the east of Ukraine and Moldova. There it is cultivated in the open field. In Siberia and the Central regions of the Russian Federation it is grown mainly in greenhouses and greenhouses.

Some craftsmen successfully harvest these tomatoes right on the windowsill in the apartment. This is one of the few tomatoes that can be grown both by seedling and direct planting of seeds in the ground. Seedlings are sown in seedlings in March, and they are planted in open ground at t + 10-12С. And off-seed method is only suitable when planting in a greenhouse. The optimum density of the location - 3-4 bush per square. m

There are some features that you need to know when growing this variety. So, if tomatoes grow in a greenhouse, then they need regular pasynkovanie. In the open field without it is quite possible to do. Usually, seedling recommended for the earliest possible harvest. To do this, leave the main stem 1-2, and all appearing stepchildren are removed. If you need to get a rich harvest, then all stepchildren are left in place.

Ljana is always happy with the ripening of fruits. Already in the beginning of August on each plant there will be at least 5-6 matured brushes. The bush is undersized, does not require a garter. When growing in a greenhouse, it is recommended to regularly water the plant, loosen, weed the soil from weeds and make 2-3 supplements with complex mineral fertilizers.

In the open ground, 3-4 foliar supplements are added to these procedures by any growth stimulant, with the obligatory addition of late blight fungicides.

Diseases and pests

Most often suffers from tobacco mosaic. The first signs of the disease is the appearance of variegated dark and light spots on the leaves. This disease is caused by a lack of light. With a strong defeat, you can not cure the plant. It is subject to destruction.

In order to prevent infection, it is necessary to process the seedlings with a solution of boric acid a couple of days before planting and provide good lighting. Lyana firmly conquered the love of many amateur gardeners. This wonderful variety does not require much effort in growing. After all, subject to the rules of agricultural technology, you can get a good harvest of early, very tasty and healthy tomatoes.

Below you can watch a short video about Lana tomatoes:

And in the table below you will find links to articles about tomatoes of the most different ripening terms that may be useful to you:

History of the variety

The seed producer is the agrofirm SeDeK. Its products are well known to all growers. Liang was introduced at the end of the last century. It was developed in Moldova. In Russia, the variety is entered in the state register.

Favorable areas for growth are:

Early ripe Lyana tomatoes form the first fruits that have reached maturity at 100-110 days after germination. The plant is compact, with low - no higher than 60 cm - bushes of the standard type. Because of this, it is unprofitable to plant a tomato in a greenhouse, it is better to grow it in the ground or under temporary shelter.

The characteristic and description of the variety correspond to the parameters of the determinant group of tomatoes. They stop growing in the formation of 5 or 8 inflorescences on the central shoot. Lateral branches grow at the same time, stepchildren are formed.

Productivity usual for an early grade - 10 kg / m ². It is obtained by planting 4 roots / m². The formation of the bush does not require - summer resident saves time for care.

Fruits are round, with thin skin, but durable. The size is small. Average weights in the range of 80-90 g. This is the norm for the early, undersized species of tomato. Liang's tomatoes are pink, but in some cases the color is almost raspberry.

The variety description from the point of view of use corresponds to tomatoes of universal purpose. Of them recommend cooking:

  • summer salads,
  • sauce,
  • lecho,
  • ketchup,
  • vegetable salads for the winter,
  • borscht dressing,
  • marinades.

List of advantages and disadvantages

It is after reading a brief description of all the valuable qualities of a variety, gardeners make a decision in favor of a variety and acquire seeds.

Evaluate the list of advantages:

  1. Dense skin preserves the shape and integrity of the fruit during pickling and transportation.
  2. For early tomatoes, a tomato variety contains a large percentage of healthy compounds.
  3. The formation and release of the fruit is friendly.
  4. Worthy indicators of productivity for an undersized early grade.
  5. Good taste, corresponding to the fruits of pink.
  6. Fruits at air temperature close to zero can retain their taste and presentation for 2 months.

About the disadvantages need to talk separately.

Reviews that you can read on the forums, as always, contradictory. Some are satisfied, others have complaints. This is normal, because everyone has their own perception of taste. Planting a variety of different purposes.

Valery, 42 years:

“This season I grew Liana for the first time. For tomatoes almost did not care. Scheme - planted and forgotten. Pasynki did not delete, did not tie branches, did not put support. With all these “not”, the harvest was quite good. I'm not complaining about the taste, because the variety is still early. ”

“The variety is reliable. Does not fail, bears fruit even with prolonged rains. Soot for many years. Seeds buy one sachet, enough for 2 years. I do not sow much. In early July, 5-6 bushes are enough for us to eat. ”

The truth about planting and care

The truth is that the stunted and early ripe Lyang tomatoes grown in the OG require minimal maintenance. With them you can begin your practice beginner growers. Who planted a variety, agree with this opinion.

More often, Liang's tomato is propagated by sowing seeds for seedlings. If there is a greenhouse in the southern climate, you can sow the seeds immediately into the ground. Sowing dates in different climatic zones are excellent - they sow seeds from February to April.

Seedlings before planting in the garden need to be fed 2 times with liquid complex fertilizers. The time spent on seedlings always gives the result - a guaranteed early harvest.

Strong tomato bushes with 5-7 leaves, 25-35 cm tall can be planted on the ridge. If there is a danger of frost, put a temporary shelter. It can be double-layered:

  1. Nonwoven covering material - 1 layer.
  2. PVC film - 2 layer.

Care has its own characteristics. Leans do not need support, in contrast to the early large-fruited, semi-determinant varieties, the bushes of which require garters and stepsons. In the care of tomato Liang unpretentious.

A minimum of agrotechnical techniques is needed:

  • watering,
  • 2-3 feedings with organic or mineral compounds,
  • weeding and loosening the ridges.

The list of events is small. Such grade - a find for the summer resident engaged at work. It is recommended to combine weeding and loosening the ridges with watering: in the evening he watered, the next day he tore out the weeds and loosened the aisles.

If there is a lawn in the country, then mowed and slightly dried lawn grass can save water for irrigation. The grass can be used as mulch, which not only prevents the evaporation of moisture from the soil: dry mulch on the ridge will protect the roots from overheating, and the bushes from rot and pests.

Fertilizers and disease prevention measures

Tobacco mosaic is a viral disease, easier to prevent than to cure. Greenhouse tomatoes suffer from this disease more often.

Factors leading to an outbreak of the disease:

  • poor ventilation
  • frequent seedling planting scheme,
  • excess moisture in the air.

Prevention measures that can prevent viral disease:

  1. Disinfecting seeds.
  2. Handling of rassadny boxes with a fungicide.
  3. 10 days before transplanting into soil, treat the soil with phytosporin or shed with a solution of potassium permanganate.
  4. Root and non-root fertilizing with mineral fertilizers.

Easy-to-use dry fertilizer Kemira wagon will greatly facilitate the life of a gardener. No need to prepare an aqueous solution. Before watering, the granules are simply scattered over the surface of the ridge. They will dissolve after watering.

Description of tomato variety Lyan

Despite the fact that the variety Lyana was bred in Transnistria, the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation, where it was registered in 1996, recommends it for cultivation mainly in the Central and East Siberian regions. Of course, this does not mean that Ljana will not grow in a truly “tomato” Volga or Black Soil Region. The variety is successfully cultivated almost all over our country, these tomatoes are planted in neighboring Moldova and Ukraine.

Lyan's tomato belongs to determinant varieties: its bush is low (not higher than 40 cm), but also unlike a tree, that is, not standard, its branching is average, and the leaves on the bushes grow a lot. These leaves are of normal size and color, weakly crinkled. Over the fifth or sixth leaf, the first inflorescence is already formed, and then after every 1 or 2 leaves - new ones. In total, at least five brushes are formed on the bush, each of which contains 4–5 tomatoes. Lyan's tomato bush is not high, but unfortunately its stems are very fragile and break off without tying

Fruits are medium-sized, weighing about 80 g, round, red in color, with two or three seed chambers. The taste of fresh tomatoes is considered excellent. Directions of their use - fresh use and whole-canning. When harvesting for the winter, the tomatoes do not crack; they look very appetizing in the banks. It is possible to cook from these tomatoes both juice, and tomato paste, at least, the rich chemical composition quite favors this.

Ripening tomatoes comes together and early: in the middle lane about 100 days after germination, that is, around mid-summer, in Siberia a week and a half later. The yield is not bad: about 3 kg of tomatoes are harvested from each bush in the middle lane. Oddly enough, the yield in Siberia is one and a half to two times higher. Tomatoes easily carry transportation to any distance, despite the thin skin. In suitable conditions, tomatoes can be stored fresh for about two months.

The variety is highly resistant to most diseases, resistance to late blight is assessed as average, and against tobacco mosaic it is below average. It can grow well both in greenhouses and in unprotected soil, but mainly, like other low-growing varieties, is grown outside of greenhouses. Some lovers plant several bushes even on the balconies of city apartments.

In not too harsh climatic regions, planting varieties of Liang is practiced without growing seedlings, but in this case fruit ripening occurs only at the end of summer.

On the basis of red tomato Liang, a new version is derived - Liana pink. The main characteristics of these two varieties coincide, but the updated version ripens somewhat faster and may even be classified as ultra-fast-growing. In addition, in pink tomatoes, which are somewhat larger, higher and the percentage of sugar content.

In appearance, the fruits of Liang's tomato are similar to many other red fruit varieties, since they have a classic round shape and color. Even a specialist is easily confused with at least several dozens of similar varieties, the differences can be observed only in details. Fruits of a tomato Liang of the correct form, approximately one size, bright red

Pink Liana looks the same, but the fruits have a completely different, very elegant color. Fruits of pink Liana are equally smooth and regular in shape, but their color is completely different.

Actually, the bushes, covered with numerous tomatoes, resemble bushes of some other early determinant varieties, for example, Beta tomato.

Advantages and disadvantages, differences from other varieties

The variety of tomatoes Lyan quickly gained popularity among gardeners, amateurs and small farmers due to the fact that he has a lot of obvious advantages. The most important of them include:

  • unpretentious care,
  • early terms of ripening tomatoes and, at the same time, the duration of fruiting,
  • excellent taste of ripened fruit
  • good yield for an early variety,
  • long-term preservation and good crop transportability,
  • beautiful presentation of tomatoes,
  • versatility of crop destination
  • high resistance to the main types of diseases.

The disadvantages include:

  • low tobacco mosaic resistance
  • high foliage that requires removal of excess green mass during the ripening of the crop.

A surprising feature of the variety is that, judging by the published data, its yield in Siberian conditions, characterized by a high risk of cultivating heat-loving plants, is significantly higher than in conditions such as Moscow region. It is difficult to understand this phenomenon, but statistics claims that this is so.

The variety Lyan, which bears fruit with tomatoes of the usual type (shape and color), typical of many other varieties, compares favorably with most of them in terms of consumer properties. For example, for a long time one of the best early varieties of tomatoes was considered to be the long-known Bely filling variety. And although the ripe fruits of these varieties are very similar to each other, White filling is characterized by the presence of a significantly larger number of seed chambers. The ripe fruits of the White filling are little different from Liana

Quite early ripe variety Shuttle, also successfully used in whole-canning, has a completely different form of tomato and low resistance to disease. The very old Siberian early ripening variety is significantly inferior to Liana in taste, while the relatively young variety Yablonka Russia grows with a higher bush. Comparison of varieties can be continued indefinitely: today there are a lot of tomatoes, somewhat similar to Liang, and each can find both positive and negative traits.

Features of planting and cultivation of tomato Lyana

If you try to say in a nutshell about the peculiarities of aganomics of tomato Liang, then it turns out that there are practically none: they are a typical determinant variety, distinguished by very early ripening periods, intended mainly for open ground. Early ripeness makes it possible in the warm regions to grow it by direct sowing of seeds in the garden (although the advantages in terms of ripening of the crop are lost), but mostly Liana, like almost any tomato, is grown through the seedling stage.

This variety of tomatoes, like most other early ripe, it makes no sense to sow on seedlings very early, because in this version the situation may arise when the bushes already have tomatoes, and the weather does not yet have to transplant the seedlings into unprotected soil. Liana can be transplanted to the beds at the age of 45–50 days, so the term of sowing seeds in the seedling boxes in the conditions of the Central region and areas equivalent to climate is the very end of March, or the beginning of April.

Of course, if there are temporary film shelters on the site, you can do seedling affairs and early. The main thing is to plant the seedlings in the garden bed when the land in it warms to at least 14 o C. The considered variety is quite unpretentious, this also applies to the stage of growing seedlings: it does not cause unnecessary trouble. But seeds, especially if they are of unknown origin, are best prepared. Calibrated seeds (large, identical in size) sprout in a friendly manner, and decontaminated (half an hour bought in a dark solution of potassium permanganate) almost guarantee the absence of plant diseases in the future.

It is also necessary to disinfect the soil (pour a weak solution of potassium permanganate), if it is compiled independently. Purchased nutrients (not the cheapest) are usually ready to use. Lyana loves loose soils, which should be taken into account when compiling the mixture: it is good if there is peat and humus, to which is added soddy earth and a little wood ash.

Since Liana is grown mainly for canning, it is usually planted in considerable quantity. Therefore, at first seeds are sown in a small box, and then dive into a more spacious one. Sowing is carried out to a depth of 2 cm, with a distance between the seeds of about 3 cm. Covering the box with glass, leave it at room temperature: after 5–6 days, germs should appear. At this point, it is important to reduce the temperature for a few days to 16–18 ° C; otherwise, the seedlings of even the determinant varieties are strongly drawn out and become unviable.

With the formation of 2 true leaves, seedlings are seated more freely (in a large box or separate pots), slightly pinching the central root. The entire care of the seedlings consists in rare watering and ensuring good illumination. If the soil is taken not very good, 1-2 times you will have to feed the plants with full mineral fertilizer or at least an infusion of wood ash.

A week before transplanting to the garden, the seedlings are hardened, gradually accustoming to harsh conditions: fresh air, breeze and low humidity. This means that the boxes are carried out for some time on the balcony and reduce the frequency of watering. Good seedlings of tomato Lyana should not be high (20 cm is quite enough), but should have a strong stem and, preferably, the beginnings of a floral brush. The best tomato seedlings grow in individual cups, but this requires a lot of space in the apartment.

Place under the garden bed in the garden should be well lit and closed from the north winds. Ljana does not like heavy soils: they must be loose and moisture permeable. Under the autumn digging make about a bucket of humus, a handful of ash and up to 50 g of superphosphate per square meter. The optimum planting density is 4–6 plants per 1 m 2. In that case, if they are going to grow bushes without the operation of removing the stepsons (and this is possible), no more than four bushes are placed on a square meter.

Since the seedlings of Liana are usually compact, they are planted without digging, the planting technique is well known to gardeners. Someone likes to plant "in the dirt", someone, on the contrary, in a relatively dry soil, followed by careful irrigation: it depends on the structure of the soil and habits. It is important to remember that although the bushes of this tomato do not grow tall, their garter is very desirable: the plant is not standard. Therefore, immediately upon landing, it is necessary to provide for pegs up to half a meter high.

As with the cultivation of any varieties of tomatoes, Liang is required to weed, simultaneously loosen the soil, water, sometimes feed, and also protect against diseases. Frequent watering is not required, but the soil should not dry out. Watered with water heated in the sun, trying not to pour on the leaves.

2-3 weeks after transplantation in the garden, tomatoes are fed for the first time. Subsequent feeding give the same time, while trying to alternate organic and mineral fertilizers. As the fruit ripens, nitrogen from supplements is excluded, limited to infusions of ash with small additions of superphosphate.

Liana responds well to foliar dressing, especially at the very beginning of flowering. For this purpose, formulations with the addition of boric acid are used. So, taking any complex fertilizer and preparing a solution for feeding according to the instructions to it, add 1 g of boric acid to a bucket of this solution and spray the bushes. Extra root dressing with boron-containing formulations increases the number of flowers and ovaries

Liana feels bad without tying, because her stems are not very strong and break off under the weight of the crop. Bushes are tied up to any convenient support 1-2 times a season, using soft twines. Shrubs try to form in two or three stems, but that is if they want to get an earlier harvest possible. When the term is not critical, many gardeners do not carry out the pasynkovany at all: in this case the harvest will be later, but its quantity will be more. As the fruit grows and its ripening begins, part of the foliage is cut off, revealing tomato to be illuminated by the sun.

In private gardens, Liang is often not treated at all against pests and diseases, at least with the use of chemicals. The main crop has time to ripen before the onset of a dangerous period in this sense. However, in areas where tomato diseases are rampant, preventive sprays are desirable. As a rule, it is enough to use “soft” formulations, for example, Fitosporin or Trichodermine with the addition of small amounts of boric acid.

Reviews gardeners

Liana Pink really liked, grew it in the OG. This tomato has appeared early, fruitful. The fruits are oval-shaped, pink, with sweetness, do not crack. Bushes 50–60 cm high, did not hurt anything. A lot of tomatoes of this variety went into preservation, the size is suitable for cans.

My very first fruits are given by Ljana. The height of the bushes is about 60–70 cm. Extended fruiting. Really very tasty variety. You can plant thickly. Not painful. Highly recommend…

A. Kondratiev

Be sure to sow an early variety of tomatoes in the greenhouse, last year it was “Liana”. Variety liked, productive and not prone to late blight.

You know how neighbors can buzz all the ears: “Buy a sort of Liang”. It is a pity that I had not obeyed good advice before. Now I will always grow))).

The variety of tomatoes Liana is early ripening, the fruit grows a lot, the bush is quite strong, the trunk is thick, I tie it up, otherwise the fruit will touch the ground and start to rot. Seedlings, as a rule, do not outgrow, but these tomatoes have an average taste, can be planted for pickling or preparing tomato juice. For fresh consumption there are more delicious varieties.

Lyan's tomato and its variety - Liana pink - are very popular among lovers of tomato preparations for the winter. This variety is very unpretentious and gives good yields of even fruits of excellent taste, very convenient for whole-canning. Due to the high commercial qualities of this variety of tomatoes, he was fallen in love not only by summer residents, but also by agricultural producers who grow tomatoes for commercial purposes.

Way to use

Mature fruits are perfectly transported, stored for up to three months at a temperature of +8 to +10 with a humidity of 85%

Description varieties of tomatoes Lyana

The variety of tomato Lyana is early ripe, but shrubs can bear fruit until the middle of autumn.

The bushes themselves are just a godsend for growing tomatoes in areas of small size. The variety is determinant - on average, the plant is 40-50 cm tall, very compact in width, does not require a garter. Liang's tomatoes are not the type of shtambov. The formation of a bush is usually done in 1-3 stems, so stading will have to be carried out regularly when grown.

Description of the fruits of tomato Lyan

The fruits of this variety of tomatoes are dense, resilient, round, bright red, on average reach 50-80 g in weight. The flesh is with low acidity - no more than 0.8%, with a high sugar content - about 4%. Peel - medium hard, smooth. From the photo you can make sure that the Len tomatoes look very nice.

Important! Favorably distinguishes according to the characteristics of tomatoes Lyana not only a pleasant taste, but also a high content of beneficial trace elements and vitamins, including A, PP, C, B.

This variety of early tomatoes is suitable for a variety of purposes:

  • fresh use,
  • salting, pickling,
  • production of ketchup, sauces.

Important! When canning in general, the fruits do not crack, which is important from an aesthetic point of view.

Suitable region and climate

Tomatoes Liana is a versatile variety that is suitable both for cultivation in the open field, and for the greenhouse or greenhouse.

Important! Some gardeners even achieve good results when planting such tomatoes at home on a window sill.

The best regions for cultivation are the east of Moldova and Ukraine, although the plants in the central regions of Russia, and even sometimes in northern latitudes, take root quite well.

Important! Cultivation is possible by direct planting seeds in the ground and seedlings.

As already noted in the description of the characteristics of Liang's tomatoes, this is an early variety. At the same time, it has a very high yield. Depending on the care and conditions of the growing region, results may vary.

For example:

  1. In the suburbs and central regions usually collect about 2-3 kg of bushes.
  2. In some areas of Eastern Siberia, data on 8 kg per bush were recorded.
  3. Maturing terms - 85-115 day after germination.

Important! The average duration of the fruit without damage, provided the temperature is 8-10 ° C and 85% humidity is about 3 months.

Conclusions about Liang's grade on reviews

In the comments, gardeners who grew Liang’s tomatoes note the following positive points:

  • abundant and uniform fruiting shrubs,
  • the versatility of the fruit,
  • unpretentiousness regarding growing conditions and care,
  • good taste of tomatoes,
  • resistance to various diseases.

But there are reviews of Liang's tomatoes and some of the deficiencies noted, mostly they relate to the frequent defeat of tobacco mosaic, and sometimes other pests. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out preventive procedures.

In general, varieties of tomatoes Liang - it is resistant to most diseases characteristic of this species, the culture. For example, the breeders turned out to be successful in relation to macrosporosis and apical rot of fruit, dry spot.

But some diseases can still occur. Among them:

Important! A tobacco mosaic virus can be noticed by such symptoms as the formation of light and dark spots on the leaves. Such plants cannot be cured - they are destroyed.

As a preventive measure, you can use the method of treating seedlings before planting in open ground - usually this is done in 2 weeks. An effective remedy is boric acid solution (1 teaspoon of acid is added to 1 bucket of water).

Proper care of tomato seedlings of Liang includes the following procedures:

  1. Regular staving.
  2. Regular abundant watering - at least 1 liter of warm water for each bush.
  3. You can make growth stimulants, as well as fungicides for the prevention of late blight - Fitosporin M, Luna, Kvadris. It also helps the folk remedy - a solution of 2 g of copper sulfate, 200 g of soap and 10 liters of water.
  4. Top dressing during the fruiting period - 2-3 times. Fertilizer on the basis of tablets of humates (potassium, sodium, peat) and water showed good results, proportions - 5 pcs. 0.5 liters, which are then adjusted to the desired volume of 10 liters of water. Consumption composition - 1 l per 1 bush.

The variety of tomatoes Lyan is very convenient, practical for various regions, areas of various sizes. And if you add to this the excellent taste characteristics and long-term storage of fruits, you can safely conclude that this is one of the best varieties of tomato.

Is it necessary to put the tomatoes

Masking is considered an important agronomic technique for tomatoes. If you do not carry out the formation, then you can not think of a bountiful harvest.

Masking of tomatoes is carried out for the following purposes:

  • Improving the lighting conditions of plantations.
  • Strengthening the nutrition of fruits.
  • Lengthening the terms of fruiting.
  • Forcing maturity.
  • The likelihood of full ripening tomatoes on the vine.

The basic rules of pasynkovaniya

To produce pasynkovaniye should, given the variety of tomatoes, the characteristic features of growth and development. But there are several recommendations that are suitable for all, without exception, varieties - indeterminantny and determinant, soil and greenhouse. Only if these conditions are met, the pinching will produce results:

  • Formation must begin only after all the bushes have become stronger, will begin to grow rapidly. Remove the stepsons simply when the length does not exceed 5 cm.
  • It is desirable to start the formation of the bush in the morning.
  • Continue to work on cleaning shoots need throughout the summer season.

If the formation goes in 3 stalks, we save the main shoot and 2 lower stepsons, in 2 trunks - we save the main shoot and the lower escape under the 1st inflorescence, in 1 trunk - we save only the main stalk.

How to determine how many stalks to leave? This number will tell you the preferred plant variety.

To obtain the earliest fruits, one should select undersized determinant varieties. On them it is necessary to save 1 or 2 stalks. In this case, the tomatoes begin to ripen on the first 3-5 brushes.

Determinant tomatoes are distinguished by the fact that they end their growth as a result of tying a certain number of brushes. Determinant varieties are subdivided into superdeterminant varieties - very early, usually not requiring pasynkovaniya, and simply determinant, which have to be formed, eliminating unnecessary stepchildren. In determinant varieties 1 flower brush is formed after 5-7 leaves, new brushes are laid every 2 leaves.

Indeterminate varieties and hybrids of tomatoes are characterized by unlimited growth of the main stem. In conditions of heated greenhouses and in warm countries, such plants have all the chances to grow a year or more, bringing in 40-50 harvest brushes. Such varieties are strongly recommended to form. They remove all stepchildren and lead to a single stalk. In indeterminate varieties, the first brush is formed after 9 sheets, new brushes are laid through 3 sheets.

Masking of indeterminate varieties

Tomatoes in a greenhouse are formed much faster than in open ground. Paceniks they appear before the flower brush begins to be laid. In this case, the forces of the plant are spent on the growth of the total mass of leaves and stems, and not on fruiting. Certainly it is necessary to conduct pasynkovanie during the summer season, in order to get a harvest, and not only attractive, but completely useless bushes.

In tall varieties, it is recommended to leave a single stalk, eliminating all stepchildren. Leave only small hemp in 1 cm.

In which period and how stepsons tomatoes

Proceed by bearding most of the varieties of tomatoes should be in the period of flowering 1 flower brush. The frequency of work - at least 1 time in 10 days. Work must be carried out carefully and quickly.

The most common way to pinch a tomato is to break off the shoots with your hands. The operation is preferably performed with gloves. Masking is usually carried out in the morning, it is during this period that the stems break off easily.

You can also pinch tomatoes with a knife or scissors. The blades of the cutting tool should be sharp.

Proper tomato pasying makes it possible not to increase the green mass, but to get a fairly good and high-quality harvest of fruits. At the same time absolutely all tomatoes will be filled and healthy.

Tomato "Liana": early ripe and tasty

The variety “Liana” is characterized as early ripe; when grown in a greenhouse, at the beginning of July one can get the first crop of even and beautiful fruits of bright red color. The average time from planting to picking a tomato is 94-110 days.

Description of the variety:

  • Shrubs srednevetvistye, well leafy, In height, they reach 35-40 cm
  • Fruits are medium-sized (average weight is 65-80 g).
  • The taste of the tomato is excellent. Fruits of a grade of "Liana" have sugary pulp and a smooth glossy peel.
  • Fruits have a rounded shape, rich bright red color.
  • The fruiting period is stretched, the first fruits appear in early July and continue to fill until the end of September.

Excellent taste is not the only advantage of this proven variety. It is unpretentious to care, resistant to diseases such as macrosporosis and bacterial spotting. Also, tomatoes have good transportability.

Breeders did not stop at what has been accomplished; on the basis of Liana, the ultra-early variety “Liana Pink” was bred, which is distinguished by the bright raspberry color of fruits and the sugary pulp.

The nuances of agricultural engineering

Tomato "Liana" is recommended for cultivation in the Central region, Siberia and the Far East, while excellent yields of tomatoes can be obtained not only when grown in a film greenhouse, but also in open ground. Light soil is recommended for “Liana”. The variety is grown only by seedling.

Grow seedlings as follows:

  1. To obtain seedlings, seeds of tomato varieties “Ljana” are planted in March, having previously processed them in a light pink solution of potassium permanganate for the prevention of diseases.
  2. The containers for seedlings are thoroughly washed and dried.
  3. Then the containers are filled with a light nutrient substrate composed of two parts of garden soil, one part of humus and sand (you can also use ready-made universal soil for seedlings).
  4. Substrate moisturize, align and make grooves with a depth of about 1 cm.
  5. They are carefully laid out the seeds of tomatoes and covered with substrate.
  6. The container with plantings is placed in a warm and bright place and periodically moisten the soil.
  7. The first shoots appear after about 5 days.
  8. After the appearance of 2-3 true leaves, the seedlings dive, planting them in separate pots.
  9. Planting in the greenhouse is carried out at the end of May with the establishment of stable positive temperatures, in the open ground - at the beginning of June. The variety “Liana” is a medium-sized plant (the height of the bush is only 35-40 cm), therefore between seedlings it is necessary to leave about 50 cm. Planting pattern: 5-6 seedlings per 1 square meter.

Further cultivation of culture is reduced to regular watering with warm water. “Liang” needs to be bitched by removing side shoots up to the first brush. In early August, the top of the head is pinched to stop the growth of the plant and the formation of new ovaries, which simply do not have time to mature.

Bushes should be regularly spud, making organic or mineral fertilizers under the bush. “Liana” responds well to foliar fertilizing with a solution of wood ash (200 g per 10 l of water).

Although the “Liana” bushes are not very tall, they need support, because the shoots can lie on the ground under the weight of the fruit. Tomatoes are tied to the pegs in a week after planting in the ground.

Harvesting and storage

Fruits of a tomato "Lyana" have a dense skin, therefore they are well tolerated in transportation. Ripened ripe tomatoes can be stored in the refrigerator for several days. For subsequent maturation, they can be removed in the stage of milky ripeness or brown. Unripe fruits are laid out in boxes and placed in a dark and warm place, where they gradually ripen.

Fresh tomatoes are very tasty, they have a characteristic tomato taste with sourness. Tomatoes of this variety are excellent salads and sauces, they are used in the preparation of lecho and ketchup. Especially good are the fruits of Lena in salty form, medium-sized and even tomatoes are great for canning.

The collection is recommended in the morning, after drying out the dew. The fruits are cut together with the stem from a bush and laid out in a dry container. If tomatoes need to be transported over a long distance, then they are recommended to be removed unripe.

Gardeners who grow the variety "Ljana" praise him very much, considering it one of the best tomatoes for open ground. Even in Siberia and the Far East, a tomato produces a bountiful crop of medium-sized tomatoes. Only good reviews. There is excellent transportability and keeping quality, as well as resistance to common tomato diseases.
